Sofapaka hits Rayon Sports

Bernard Odhiambo
Nation wide league contenders Sofapaka lat evening trounced Rayon Sports of Rwanda 2-0 in a friendly match held at the Nairobi City Stadium.

After a barren first half, Bernard Odhiambo was the match hero when he scored both goals in the 78th and 84th minutes.

The Rwandese are on transit to Tanzania for the regional Cecafa tournament that gets under way today. Rayon Sports coached by Raul Shungu will start their campaign tomorrow against Uganda Revenue Authority(URA) in Morogoro.

The Rwandese were reduced to 10men in the 39th minute when Afro Hategekimana was sent off by referee John Ongere for rough play.

Earlier in the 22nd minute, Sofapaka missed a chance when Bob Saddam weaked past Rayon Sports defenders Mike Yossam, Uwingabire Olivier and Hategekimana Bonaventure and remained with goalkeeper Webo to beat but shot wide.

Sofapaka custodian Alex Mwangi made several saves in the first half thwarting efforts  by Lomani Jean and Tuyisenge Roger for fruitless corners.
